Notes from our Board President
The New Ark Chorale has been hard at work transforming printed scores into beautiful music. It takes hard work and talent to reach the point where the music takes on a life of its own. The chorale is fortunate to have our talented musical director, Dr. Michael Larkin, as well as a cohort of talented singers and musicians. It takes hours of effort to move from just notes and rhythm notations to present music with all its intricacies of volume, timing and accent. It is the blending of the different choral voices that is the focus of choral singing. The program is already showing indications of becoming another notable presentation by this musical group. The concerts do not happen without the hard work and dedication of volunteers. These valuable people help with publicity, obtaining advertisers, compiling the programs and organizing the food and beverages that we enjoy sharing with our audience after performances. Some are singers in the Chorale, others are family, and yet others are friends of the Chorale, but all work together to bring choral music to you, our patrons.
We look forward to singing for you at our Christmas concert entitled "A Ceremony of Carols" on December 17 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Newark, DE (our concert home).
Please mark your calendars with the dates of our future concerts, "Spring Songs" April 8, 2017, and "American Tapestry XIV", our annual Memorial Day weekend tribute to America, May 28, 2017. All concerts are at 3pm.
Thank you for your interest and hope to see you at our concerts.
